Leather changes as you use it, and small changes in color and texture over time are part of its character. These general care habits help a leather case age well. If your case came with its own care instructions, follow those first.
Everyday care
- Wipe it with a soft, dry cloth. This removes dust and fingerprints.
- Keep it dry. If your case gets wet, blot it with a soft cloth and let it dry naturally at room temperature.
- Avoid direct heat. Do not dry a case with a hair dryer or leave it on a radiator or in a hot car for long periods, because heat can dry out leather.
- Skip harsh cleaners. Household cleaners, alcohol wipes and solvents can damage the finish of leather.
Conditioning
If the leather starts to feel dry, you can use a conditioner made for smooth leather. Always test it on a small, hidden area first, because conditioners can darken leather. Apply a little with a soft cloth, let it soak in, then buff off any excess.
Wallet cases
Do not carry more cards than a wallet case's slots are designed for. Overfilling the slots can stretch the leather and loosen the fit.
